Highlights:

In their Asia Cup 2023 Super Four clash, India thrashed Pakistan by 228 runs.

After their dominant Asia Cup 2023 win over Pakistan, India skipper Rohit Sharma lauded the outstanding performance of his team, particularly highlighting the achievements of KL Rahul and Virat Kohli at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Mondya, September 11.

KL Rahul and Virat Kohli Shine

Sent in to bat first after the toss, India notched up an impressive 357/2, giving a tough challenge to Babar Azam's team. Both KL Rahul and Virat Kohli took centre stage with individual centuries and a record-breaking partnership of 233 runs, the highest ever in Asia Cup history.

Jasprit Bumrah's noteworthy bowling performance

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah's bowling was another highlight of the IND vs PAK face-off. Rohit Sharma didn't hold back his praise, saying, "Bumrah looked good. We all saw that. He swung the ball both ways. Really worked hard for the past 8-15 months. I know how hard it is who goes through that kind of injury. Bumrah is only 27. For him to come back... the way he bowled, he's shown what Bumrah is all about. Good to see him in that rhythm."

KL Rahul's comeback post-injury

The cricketing world saw KL Rahul returning with finesse after an injury, displaying commendable maturity. His batting prowess was evident as he remained unbeaten, scoring 111 off 106 balls, graced with 12 boundaries and a couple of sixes. Rahul's entry to the crease was after Shaheen Shah Afridi took out Shubman Gill.

"Looking at how we batted, there were a lot of positives. And then Virat and KL obviously. We know it was a typical Kohli innings, brilliantly paced. I am very happy for KL... last minute change. Not easy coming from injury. It was five minutes before the toss we had to tell him to play... not easy to come out in those circumstance," Rohit remarked on the batting display

Now, Setting their sights on the next challenge, India will be taking on Sri Lanka, led by Dasun Shanaka, in their subsequent Asia Cup Super Four match on Tuesday, September 12, again in Colombo.
