The cricketing world is ready for the India clash against Pakistan in the much-anticipated Super Fours stage of the Asia Cup 2023 at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Amidst this, KL Rahul, one of India's top-performing middle-order batters, shed light on his tumultuous journey back from injury.

KL Rahul faced an uphill battle with his injury recovery, which he elaborated in a recent BCCI video. Having injured his thigh during the IPL 2023, he was sidelined for a significant period.

"Unfortunately, in the recovery process, I developed a small niggle just before I could come back into the team, which was a big downer. I was actually I ahead of schedule, and I felt like I could come back much before the Asia Cup and give myself a lot of time and prepare myself really well," said Rahul.

His absence was felt, but Ishan Kishan made sure to leave a mark during India's group-stage match against Pakistan with a 81-ball 82.

Despite the setbacks, KL Rahul's enthusiasm remains undeterred. Over the past few matches, his prowess in the middle-order is undeniable, having accumulated 735 runs in just 17 matches, including one century and seven half-centuries.

Rahul's excitement was palpable as he stated, "I'm happy to come back into the team and get back the rhythm of being in the middle, playing 100 overs, keeping for 50 overs. I'm fighting for as long as I need to, just getting back that adrenaline of being back on the cricket field. We're playing the best tournaments outside of the World Cup. We're playing some quality teams in the next week, 10 days. So I'm very excited about that. I've prepared really well. I'm confident about myself."

With KL Rahul back in the mix, and the likes of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer showing consistent performances, the upcoming matches in the Asia Cup 2023 promise nothing but fireworks.
