A few days after the 'don't know what Najam Sethi is smoking nowadays' remark, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh launched yet another attack on the former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief. Harbhajan's brutal statement came on the backdrop of India's historic win over Pakistan during the 2023 Asia Cup Super 4s match in Colombo. The ex-Indian spinner had been 'furious' at Sethi for insinuating that the Men in Blue are scared to play against Pakistan.
After India's first match of the ongoing Asia Cup ended in a washout against Pakistan, Sethi posted a bizarre tweet on X, formerly Twitter, and attacked the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for the scheduling of the competition.
Furthermore, the ex-PCB chief also suggested that India is afraid to play Pakistan because the ACC decided to conduct Super 4s matches in Colombo.
"BCCI/ACC informed PCB today that they had decided to shift next India-Pak match from Colombo to Hambantota because of rain forecasts. Within one hour they changed their mind and announced Colombo as the venue. What's going on? Is India afraid to play and lose to Pakistan Look at the rain forecast," said Sethi on X.
After India trounced Pakistan by 228 runs, Harbhajan found the right moment to once again hit back at Sethi and affirmed that the ex-PCB chief would have received his answer.
"I have a message for Najam Sethi. He had said that Team India is afraid of playing against Pakistan, I hope he saw the kind of performance that Team India put up, a record win. I hope he must have got his answer, so keep your boys ready for the next game," Harbhajan said on his YouTube channel.
Babar Azam's Pakistan bowed out of the ongoing continental competition after Sri Lanka registered a thrilling two-wicket win against the Men in Green on September 14 (Thursday) in what was a virtual knockout game.
Pakistan lost two of their three Super 4s matches and hence, will now be watching India vs Sri Lanka final from home.
