In the last match of the 2023 Asia Cup Super 4s, Team India will cross swords against Bangladesh at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on September 15 (Friday). The Men in Blue have already sealed their place in the final and they will square off against Sri Lanka in the title clash. Bangladesh performed poorly in the tournament and would look to depart for home with a stellar performance against a strong Indian side.
With the game against Bangladesh being a dead rubber, Rohit Sharma and the Indian team management are expected to make a few changes to their playing XI. Jasprit Bumrah, who returned after to ODI cricket after a lengthy injury break, is likely to be rested in the game against Bangladesh. Remember, the right-arm pacer twisted his ankle in his follow-through in the game against Sri Lanka. Thus, Rohit would tread very carefully with Bumrah.
Hardik Pandya and Mohammed Siraj might also get a breather. Mohammed Shami, Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna might get some game time against Bangladesh. Shreyas Iyer might also return to the playing XI but it would be interesting to see whom the right-handed batter replaces.
Weather Forecast
Right through the tournament weather has played a big part, and on numerous occasions, it has played spoilsport. During India's game against Bangladesh, the forecast paints another grim picture as there is a 65 percent chance of rain while thunderstorms are also predicted during the morning and afternoon.
The fans and players from both teams would hope that the rain gods shower mercy so that the match can get underway and climax without agonising delay.
