Team India captain Rohit Sharma won the all-important toss and elected to field against Bangladesh in the 2023 Asia Cup Super 4s clash at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on September 15 (Friday). For India, young left-handed batter Tilak Varma will make his ODI debut. Rohit made five changes to the playing XI and some of the big names were rested for the game. Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj were all rested while Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami and Prasidh Krishna were included in the XI.
India playing XI: Rohit Sharma(c), Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan(w), Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, Prasidh Krishna

The Men in Blue have already sealed their place in the final and they will square off against Sri Lanka in the title clash. Bangladesh performed poorly in the tournament and would look to depart for home with a stellar performance against a strong Indian side.
The match will provide a golden chance for all Indian players to sharpen their skills as there will be no pressure whatsoever. Having said that, India boasts a tremendous record against Bangladesh in Asia Cup and they would look to continue that without suffering any hiccups.
Right through the tournament weather has played a big part, and on numerous occasions, it has played spoilsport. During India's game against Bangladesh, the forecast paints another grim picture as there is a 65 percent chance of rain while thunderstorms are also predicted during the afternoon.
