India’s frontline left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh shared a hilarious post on his Instagram story. Arshdeep clicked a selfie with leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi and opener Ruturaj Gaikwad. Arshdeep used emojis of diamond and a duck above his head and Gaikwad’s whereas for Bishnoi he used a gold medal followed by a duck.

Arshdeep and Gaikwad registered diamond ducks for India in the first T20I against Australia in Visakhapatnam on November 23. Gaikwad got run out after a terrible mix-up with his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal. In the first over of the innings, Jaiswal played a pull shot and called for a second run but sent Gaikwad back when he was halfway down the pitch. Gaikwad had no chance and got run out for a diamond duck as he did not face a single delivery.

In the final over after Axar Patel got caught and bowled by Sean Abbott, Bishnoi came in to bat. Abbott bowled a bouncer and Bishnoi could not get bat on it. Rinku Singh wanted a single and rushed towards the striker’s end whereas Bishnoi could not make his ground and got run out. As Bishnoi faced one delivery, he got out for a golden duck.

On the following delivery, Arshdeep came out to bat. India needed two runs to win from the last two deliveries. Rinku played the ball wide of long-on fielder. He wanted a couple of runs to end the run chase but Arshdeep could not complete the second run and got run out. Arshdeep could not face a single ball either and recorded a diamond duck.

However, despite three ducks in the game, India won the thrilling encounter by two wickets. Rinku hit the last ball for a six but it was not counted as Abbott had bowled a no ball.

Arshdeep remained wicketless and conceded 41 runs from the four overs he bowled despite going for just seven runs in two overs. Bishnoi started off with the wicket of Matthew Short in the fifth over. He was taken to the cleaners by centurion Josh Inglis. He conceded 54 runs, the second-most in an India-Australia T20I encounter.

The trio will be in action again as India take on Australia at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram on November 26.
