India downed Australia by five wickets in the first ODI in a low-scoring affair at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday (March 17). Hardik Pandya's brigade first bundled out Australia to a paltry 188 riding on exceptional spells from Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj respectively. After getting a terrible start in the beginning KL Rahul steadied India's boat and showed calm and compose to steer India to home. Rahul, who was going through a lean patch with the bat, scored a sedate 75 off 91 to prove his batting prowess. Jadeja too chipped in with crucial 45 off 69 to ensure India win the match with 61 balls to spare.   

 

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli once failed to score big in the ODI opener as he was sent to pavilion for just 4 off 9 by Mitchell Starc. But the batting juggernaut entertained the Wankhede crowd to the fullest with his dance moves. Kohli was seen unleashing the hook steps of the iconic song Natu-Natu during the match. The fans were visibly happy to see this scene in the middle of the match as Virat's dance moves has taken the Internet by storm.

The famous song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the Telugu film RRR has won the Oscar Award in the ‘Original Song’ category at the 95th Academy Awards. Earlier, ‘Naatu Naatu’ had won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song. After winning the Oscar of Natu-Natu, it is on the lips of the people. During the final Test match between India and Australia, even Sunil Gavaskar and Matthew Hayden performed the 'Naatu Naatu' dance.

 

Talking about the match, Rahul scored a fifty while Jadeja contributed with an all-round display as Team India defeated Australia. Rahul returned unbeaten with a match-winning knock of 75 runs, while Jadeja also returned not out at 45. The match-winning 108-run partnership from the Indian pair helped the hosts eke out a fighting victory over Steve Smith’s side as India took a 1-0 lead in the 3-match ODI series.

Earlier, Indian captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bowl first, after which the Aussies could only score 188 runs, as Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj haunted the visiting batters by picking up three wickets each.

 

India and Australia will next lock horns with each other in the second ODI which will be played on March 19 in Vizag.
