In a high-scoring showdown on Sunday, Australia defeated South Africa by five wickets in their final T20I match to complete a clean sweep in the 3-0 series. Spearheaded by an explosive 91-run performance from opener Travis Head, the Australian team successfully chased down South Africa's target, finishing at 191/5 in just 17.5 overs.

Despite losing opener Matthew Short to a golden duck, the visitors' innings got back on track thanks to Head's spectacular 48-ball 91-run knock, which included six sixes and eight fours. This was the most closely contested match of the series, following Australia's landslide 111-run win in the first T20I and an eight-wicket victory in the second.

Opting to bat first, South Africa posted a competitive total of 190/8 in 20 overs. Top scorers for the team included opener Reeza Hendricks with 42 runs off 30 balls, captain Aiden Markram with 41 off 23, and Donovan Ferreira, who added a quick 48 runs off 21 balls before being run out in the last over.

Australia's bowlers contributed significantly to limiting South Africa's total, with fast-medium bowler Sean Abbott taking 4/31 in his four-over spell, and all-rounder Marcus Stoinis claiming 2/39 in four overs as well.

Despite an early setback when Matthew Short was dismissed for a golden duck, Australia regained momentum, even as they lost Mitchell Marsh for 15 runs. Gerald Coetzee and Bjorn Fortuin were the South African bowlers who made the key breakthroughs, both finishing with figures of 2/36.

The two teams will now prepare for a series of five One-Day Internationals, set to begin on September 7 (Thursday) in Bloemfontein, as a precursor to the upcoming ODI World Cup starting October 5 in India.

This recap provides a comprehensive look at how Australia dominated the T20I series against South Africa, making it a critical win as both teams gear up for the World Cup.
