Skippers Shan Masood and Najmul Hossain Shanto confessed to the offenses and acknowledged the proposed sanctions, so there was no requirement for formal hearings. Pakistan were six overs short during the Test and lost six World Test Championship points, while Bangladesh lost three points as they were found three overs short of the acceptable rate. Pakistan will remain on the eighth spot on the WTC points table but Bangladesh have dropped to the seventh spot from sixth and are currently below South Africa because of this sanction.
