Highlights:

Bangladesh need 143 runs to win the second Test.Pakistan need 10 wickets to avoid whitewash.

Najmul Hossain Shanto-led Bangladesh is now just 143 runs away from creating history and clean-sweeping Pakistan in a Test series. After winning the first Test they recorded their first-ever red-ball win against their Asian rivals and now they are on the verge of handing them a whitewash loss. This two-match series which was held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is what would go down as their worst nightmare. They have been completely outclassed in all departments.

Bangladesh bowlers run riot in second innings

Hasan Mahmud and young Nahid Rana walked through Pakistan's batting line-up in the second innings and bowled them out on just 172 runs. Mahmud picked up a five-wicket haul and got support from Nahid who missed his fifer by just one wicket. Meanwhile, Taskin Ahmed got one in front of his name. The hosts were bowled out 274 runs in the first inning but Litton Das' hundred did not let the visitors fall back in the match. Pakistan could only gain a lead of 12 runs.

However, they failed to capitalise on it badly and could only give Bangladesh a target of 185 runs. Not a single PAK batter could get to the fifty-run mark. The 55-run stand between Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha was the best partnership for Pakistan in the second innings. Their batting was once again exposed and forced them to fall on backfoot.

Bangladesh stand strong at stumps

After restricting Pakistan on 172, Bangladesh ended the penultimate day of the final Test on a high note. At Stumps Day 4, BAN openers are standing strong at 42 without losing any wickets. They only got to bat for 7 overs but Zakir Hasan's 31 off just 23 balls shifted the momentum to their favour. On the other end, Shadman Islam is also holding the other end strong. He is batting on 9 runs off 19 balls.

Clean sweep scare on hosts

Pakistan at all cost need 10 wickets on the final day tomorrow. Otherwise, restricting BAN who is just 143 runs away from a historic win would not be possible. They would need to get constant breakthroughs and avoid embarrassment on their own soil. Bangladesh on the contrary would find itself over the line with one good partnership.
