With all signs saying that the upcoming edition of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be held in a hybrid model with Pakistan being the host, an official statement on the mega tournament is yet to come from cricket's top governing body. Amid the ongoing situation, Star Sports, the official broadcasters have released their first promo for the marquee event.
According to reports, both the PCB and the BCCI have approved a hybrid model, and it has been decided that it will also be used for all competitions held in India until 2027."It's been agreed in principle by all parties that the 2025 Champions Trophy will be held in the UAE and Pakistan, with India playing its matches in Dubai. It's a win-win situation for all stakeholders," an ICC source told PTI.

The official broadcasters have released the latest ICC Champions Trophy promo amid the ongoing chaotic situation. Some of the biggest names in international cricket, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Pat Cummins, and Mitchell Starc, are included in the promo despite the lack of an official schedule.
The host's name has not been mentioned anywhere in the official promo, which could further confirm that the Champions Trophy would be held under a hybrid model and that India may play in Dubai as per the reports.Â
PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has been saying that they would do everything possible to get the best outcome which in unlike their previous statement where they were openly speaking against the hybrid model
"Cricket should win, that's most important, but with respect for all. We are going to do what's best for cricket. Whichever formula we go for, it would be on equal terms.”
