Delhi-born batter Himmat Singh who was the part of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lavished praise on Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers for their guidance. Himmat was brought by RCB in the player auction for the 2019 IPL. Himmat who is currently featuring in Delhi Premier League (DPL) revealed that AB de Villiers gave him a lot of advice during his stint with RCB.
However, Himmat was benched by RCB for the whole 2019 IPL auction and was released in the 2020 player auction. In the exclusive conversation with Sports Tak, Himmat Singh said that RCB taught him a lot of things from mental training to practice.
“I had a lot of good memories from Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). I learned a lot. From practice to mental training. I learnt everything there. Virat and AB de Villiers were there. I learned a lot from them. I talked to them. I wrote down everything on my phone. Even today, when I need it, I see them” said Himmar Singh.
Himmat also revealed that AB de Villiers gave him a piece of advice on how to play a ball while you are batting.
“AB de Villers gave me very good advice that when we bat, we have to play the ball very close. Recently, he uploaded a video on Instagram where he was explaining that this is my space. I have to play the ball in this area. He also told me that you are playing at this level, so you are talented” added Himmat.

The 27-year-old batter said that Kohli helped him mentally when he was struggling with his initial movements.
“Trust your hands, trust your ability, that you can play with it. Virat bhaiya had helped me mentally a lot. At that time I was struggling with my initial movements. He helped me in that. So there were many things that he helped me with in terms of mental aspects” said Himmat.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were the winner of IPL 2019 and RCB ended their campaign on eighth in that edition of the cash-rich league. RCB are yet to win an IPL title.
