Rohit Sharma was all praise for Team India after beating England in 2nd Test.

India bulldozed England by 106 runs in the second Test in Visakhapatnam.

Rohit Sharma lauded Team India after registering a commanding 106-run victory over England in the second Test in Visakhapatnam on February 5, Monday.

India set a challenging target of 399 runs for England to chase. In reply, Ben Stokes-led England were restricted to 292, thanks to stunning bowling performances by R Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah.

But despite the win, captain Rohit pointed out India's one shortcomings which he wants his team to address in the coming matches. Apart from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill who scored brilliant double ton and century respectively, none of the Indian batters could touch even the 50-run mark despite getting good starts.

“We were good with the bat. You know winning a Test in these conditions is not easy. Wanted our bowlers to step up and they did that. He looks like a good player, understands his game really well. Long way to go for him, has got a lot to offer for our team. Hope he stays humble. Wickets was really good to bat on. If I have to point anything, lot of the batters got starts but couldn't get big score. But I understand they're young and new to the game. Important for us to give them confidence,” Rohit Sharma said in the post-match presentation.

However, Rohit also lavished praised on India's spirited young guns who showed the mettle to diffuse England's Bazball.

“Very proud of such a young squad to come up against a team like that. Lot of the guys are quite young in terms of playing this form of the game. It'll take some time to be absolutely spot on. Want them to play freely without any pressure. Last couple of years England have been playing good cricket. Knew it wasn't going to be an easy series. Three more to go. We'll keep our check on it and make sure we do most things right,” Rohit added.

Rohit also didn't forget to laud his champion players Jasprit Bumrah, who remained the real architect of India's stunning win. Jasprit Bumrah took a brilliant fifer in the first innings and followed it up with a another three wickets in the second to thwart England from chasing 399-run target.

“He is a champion player for us (Bumrah). When you win a game like that, you have to look at the overall performance as well,” Rohit concluded.
