As a result, the Three Lions avoided a whitewash and salvaged pride after losing the opening two games of the series.Buttler and Malan scored attractive centuries while Archer registered his career-best figures in ODIs. While the English troika hogged the limelight for their stupendous display, all-rounder Moeen Ali also caught the attention of onlookers after he attempted a bizarre shot during the game.The left-handed batter tried a one-handed reverse swat against Tabraiz Shamsi in the 44th over of England's innings. South Africa pulled off a record win in the second ODI of the three-ODI series against England at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein. In the run chase of 343, Temba Bavuma was playing the perfect captain's knock when the camera panned to a spectator who fell asleep in the stands. &nbsp;The incident took place in the 25th over of the hosts' run chase. Bavuma was batting on 96 about to end his drought of centuries. Adil Rashid was about to bowl his fifth over after going for 31 in the first four. &nbsp;The cameraperson spotted a spectator who was taking a nap on the chair. The spectators saw the camera on them and cheered which woke him up. Bavuma lost his wicket to Sam Curran after scoring 109. Despite Bavuma’s wicket, David Miller's unbeaten 37-ball 58, Aiden Markram's 43-ball 49 and cameos from Heinrich Klaasen and Marco Jansen helped South Africa chase down the target with five balls to spare. &nbsp;Earlier, Bavuma won the toss and opted to field first. Jason Roy fell for only nine after scoring a century in the first ODI. Dawid Malan (12) also failed, but Harry Brook and Jos Buttler put on 73 runs for the fourth wicket. &nbsp;Brook raced to his half-century before falling to Markram and Moeen Ali (51) kept England ticking along nicely with his skipper until he played on to a delivery from Anrich Nortje. &nbsp;Buttler (94*) and Curran (28 off 17) cut loose as the world champions took 60 off the last four overs to seemingly take the upper hand and post 342/7. &nbsp;With a five-wicket win in the second ODI, South Africa have taken an unassailable lead in the series. The last ODI of the series will be played on February 1 at Diamond Oval, Kimberley as Buttler's brigade would look to register a consolation win.

England all-rounder Sam Curran has been fined 15 per cent of his match fee by International Cricket Council (ICC) for his over-the-top celebration after <a href="https://m.thesportstak.com/cricket-news/south-africa-seal-odi-series-win-over-england-temba-bavuma-century">dismissing South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma </a>in the second ODI of the three-ODI series on January 29. &nbsp;Curran was found guilty of violating Level 1 of the ICC Code of conduct. The Article 2.5 prohibits players from using any language, action or gesture toward a batter following their dismissal that could provoke an aggressive reaction from the dismissed batter. &nbsp;In addition, one demerit point has been added to the 24-year-old's disciplinary record as it will count as his first offense in a 24-month period. &nbsp;On-field umpires Marais Erasmus and Adrian Holdstock, third umpire Bongani Jele, and fourth umpire Allahudien Palekar had levelled the charge against Curran who admitted to the offense and accepted the 15 per cent fine and demerit point proposed by Jeff Crowe of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of March Referees. As a result, there was no need for a formal hearing. &nbsp;The incident took place in the 28th over of the innings when Curran bowled it full and outside off. Bavuma shuffled across to play the ramp shot but ended up dragging it back to his stumps. It was followed by a wild celebration from Curran who got into the batter’s face.&nbsp; &nbsp;However, Bavuma had the last laugh as his century helped South Africa pull off a record-breaking run chase of 343 at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein. Bavuma’s wicket was the only wicket England’s left-arm pacer could take. He bowled 10 overs including a maiden and conceded 60 runs.&nbsp; &nbsp;The five-wicket win helped hosts take an unassailable lead in the three-ODI series against the white-ball World Champions. &nbsp;ICC’s move has not gone down well with South Africa cricket fans as Kagiso Rabada was banned for a match for his wild celebration after dismissing former England skipper Joe Root.&nbsp;

Wicketkeepers are usually chirpy behind the stumps as they try to get into the batter's head and boost the players' morale. But England skipper Jos Buttler took it up a notch as he sledged South Africa batter Rassie van der Dussen during the second ODI of the three-ODI series when he thought he had missed a chance to dismiss him. &nbsp;In the 19th over when Adil Rashid was bowling, van der Dussen could not read the googly. A thick inside edge hit his pads and the ball was in the air for a short while as Buttler tried to get to it. The half chance could not be converted and it irked the wicketkeeper as he had a heating exchange with the Proteas batter. &nbsp;As there was physical contact between the two Buttler asked Dussen to relax. At that point Dussen had scored 21 runs from 13 deliveries. Dussen did not bat for long but shared a crucial 97-run partnership for the second wicket with skipper Temba Bavuma. He scored 38 runs from 38 deliveries including three fours and one six while Bavuma went on to score his century to lay platform for the record run chase. &nbsp;This is not the first time Buttler has sledged a South Africa batter. In a Test match at Cape Town in 2020, Buttler had used abusive language for former South Africa bowling all-rounder Vernon Philander.
