In the opening match, Harmanpreet scored 26 runs off 21 balls, including three fours and one six, before getting dismissed by the left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone. India fell considerably short, finishing with 159 runs for six in 20 overs while chasing a formidable target of 198.

 

Harmanpreet and the Indian team aim to bounce back as they face Heather Knight's squad in the second game on Saturday, December 9.

 

Harmanpreet stands among the three Indians, alongside Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who have scored over 3000 runs in T20Is. With 3180 runs in 156 WT20Is at an average of 28.14, the 34-year-old has one century and 11 half-centuries to her credit.
