In a big boost to Australian team, their star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is set to return to India before the World Cup clash against Afghanistan on November 7. Australia's star all-rounder returned home in middle of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 few days back citing personal reasons.

 

Now as reported by cricket.com.au Marsh will re-join the Australian squad in Mumbai on November 5 in the evening.

Australia will be heading towards Mumbai after their World Cup match against England in Ahmedabad. In Mumbai's Wankhede stadium, the five-time champions will lock horns against Hashmatullah Shahid-led Afghanistan on Tuesday.


Notably, Marsh didn't feature in Australia's World Cup clash against England as Cricket Australia said in a statement that he had flown home to Perth on November 2.


“A timeline on his return to the squad is to be confirmed. No further detail will be offered at this time," the statement said.

Not just March, but Glenn Maxwell also missed the clash against England as he suffered a freak injury after falling off from Golf cart.

 

Talking about Marsh's performance, he has amassed 225 runs in six matches and has also snared two wickets. His also cracked a stunning century (121 off 108 balls) against Pakistan in Bengaluru to help Australia win the match.

 

Australia are currently playing England in Lucknow on November 4, and if they manage to win the match they will garner 10 points and continue to secure their third spot in the points table.
