The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released 14,000 tickets for the much-awaited ODI World Cup 2023 clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, Ahmedabad on October 14.
The announcement from BCCI comes a week ahead of the clash. Earlier this week, the board was criticised for poor management as the World Cup 2023 opener between England and New Zealand at the same venue saw empty seats. While the attendance was impressive considering the capacity of 1,30,000, many questioned the decision to not make tickets available early enough for English and Kiwi spectators to book and plan their travel.
The tickets will go on sale on October 8 from 12 PM IST onwards. Fans can log on to the official ticketing website at https://tickets.cricketworldcup.com to get tickets for the mouth-watering encounter between India and Pakistan.
Pakistan started off their campaign with an 81-run win over minnows Netherlands on October 6 in Hyderabad. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma’s India will begin their quest to bring the trophy back against the mighty Australians on October 8 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
Rohit's men will look to continue their unbeaten run against Pakistan in ODI World Cup. The two sides have gone up against each other seven times. The last time India and Pakistan played a World Cup game on Indian soil was in Mohali in the 2011 World Cup. India won the game by 29 runs. In the previous ODI World Cup clash, India beat Pakistan comprehensively by 89 runs (DLS method) in a rain-curtailed encounter.
