Mitchell Marsh soon joined the party and cracked another ton for Australia. Warner, with his fourth consecutive ODI ton against Pakistan, and birthday boy Marsh's sensational hundred left the Pakistani bowlers in a quandary.

Pakistan may now be reflecting on their blunder of dropping David Warner when he was merely on a score of 10. This error proved costly, as Warner capitalised on it, churning out a scintillating century in just 85 balls.

The Warner-Marsh duo stitched together a staggering 251-run partnership for the first wicket.

Warner's performance was particularly noteworthy, given that he achieved his fourth consecutive ODI century against Pakistan in the 30.4th over. His jubilation was evident as he animatedly celebrated this feat with a spirited jump, raising his bat, the way he always does. This celebration drew admiration from all corners of the stadium, with the spectators and his teammates paying tribute with a heartfelt standing ovation.

In the chronicles of consecutive ODI centuries against a specific team, this places Warner in esteemed company:

Virat Kohli with 4 vs West Indies (2017-18)
David Warner with 4* vs. Pakistan (2017-2023)

Later, the Birthday Boy Marsh was sent packing by Shaheen Afridi after scoring 121 off 108 riding on 10 fours and nine fours. Afridi landed another blow to Australia in the very next ball by dismissing Glenn Maxwell on a golden duck. The debutant Usama Mir too joined the party to send Steve Smith to pavilion after scoring 7 off 9. As of 40 overs, Australia are strong on 297/3 with Warner (145) and Marcus Stoinis (4) on the crease.
