Hitman Rohit Sharma became the greatest six-hitter in the history of cricket during India versus Afghanistan's ODI World Cup clash at the Arun Jaitley stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday, October 11. Rohit shattered Chris Gayle's all-time record of hitting most sixes in the international cricket. Rohit has so far cracked 556 sixes in the international cricket while Gayle has hammered 553 maximums thus far. While Rohit achieved this feat in 453 matches, Gayle tasted glory in 483 innings.

Not just this, Rohit is also the the third-leading six-hitter among Indians in Test cricket with 77 sixes, only behind Virender Sehwag (91) and MS Dhoni (78).
Chasing Afghanistan's target 273, Rohit and his opening partner Ishan Kishan gave India a stormy start. As of 11 overs, Rohit pummelled a blistering 77 off 44 balls riding on four sixes to help India race to 96 without any loss. Rohit ended up scoring a spellbinding 131 off 84 balls riding on 16 fours and five sixes.
