Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is eagerly anticipating his participation in the ODI World Cup 2023 final, especially after missing out on the T20 World Cup in 2022 due to injury. In this year's World Cup, Bumrah has been instrumental to India's success, taking 18 wickets while conceding only 330 runs. His economy rate of 3.98, the lowest in the tournament, reflects his exceptional skill in limiting runs and capturing key wickets.
Bumrah's path to the ODI World Cup 2023 has not been smooth. Last year, a back injury forced him to sit out of the T20 World Cup in Australia, a significant loss for the Indian team which felt his absence during their semi-final defeat to England.

Looking forward to the final, Bumrah shared insights into his mental preparation. He recalled conversations with his family about the disappointment of missing last year's World Cup and expressed his enthusiasm for playing in this year's ODI final.
"I was talking to my family and spoke to my wife that last year in this moment, you missed the World Cup and exactly one year later you are here in the final at the place where you started playing so you can't ask for anything else," said Bumrah.
Bumrah emphasizes treating the final as just another match, focusing on the same successful processes and strategies that have brought him and the team this far.
"There are a lot of distractions going on so it's very important to stay focused, and keep the process going. I'm not treating it any differently, I am trying to treat it like any other game. What has worked for us, sticking to our strengths, our processes. That's helped us a lot. Whatever has happened is over, we have to stay in the present. All of us are enjoying our company. Shami bhai is on a roll and Siraj is also doing well. A lot of chatter, we all tried to help each other in the group," Bumrah added.
His grounded approach and commitment to consistency have been key factors in his and the team's impressive performance throughout the tournament.
