ODI World Cup 2023 warm-up matches schedule announced, Team India to square off against England and Netherlands; check complete fixture list

The International Cricket Council (ICC) ON August 23 (Wednesday) announced the schedule of warm-up matches for the 2023 ODI World Cup, scheduled to be played in India. While the quadrennial mega event will kick off on October 5, the warm-up matches are scheduled to start on September 29. The practice game, which will give the teams a golden opportunity to get acclimatised to conditions and try out different line-ups, will end on October 3.

Team India is scheduled to play against defending champions England in their first warm-up game while the Men in Blue's next practice match will be against the Netherlands. India will square off against the Three Lions on September 30 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati and will face the Netherlands on October 3 at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.

All the matches will begin at 2 PM IST while the fixtures will be played across three venues - Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram and Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

September 29: Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka, Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati
September 29: South Africa vs Afghanistan, Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram
September 29: New Zealand vs Pakistan, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad

September 30: India vs England, Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati
September 30: Australia vs Netherlands, Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram

October 2: England vs Bangladesh, Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati
October 2: New Zealand vs South Africa, Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram

October 3: Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka, Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati
October 3: India vs Netherlands, Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram
October 3: Pakistan vs Australia, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad

 

The World Cup tournament is scheduled to last for one-and-a-half months as the summit clash is slated to be played on November 19 at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.
