Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the all-important toss and elected to field against Afghanistan in the ODI World Cup match at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on October 7 (Saturday). As expected, Bangladesh went in with a playing XI brimming with quality all-rounders and included experienced Mahmudullah in the side as well. For Afghanistan, Naveen-ul-Haq was included in the playing XI comprising match-winners.

“We will field first, generally it is a ground where the team chases well. Some help for the seamers first up and we would like to capitalise on that," said Shakib at the toss. 

“I am happy that I am representing my country for the fifth time in the World Cup. We have to focus on our skills and not think too much. We have the team to do well,” he added.
