In what came as exciting news for Team India and its fans, stylish in-form batter Shubman Gill will reportedly fly from Chennai to Ahmedabad today (October 11). According to a report in News18, the 24-year-old will fly on a commercial flight to Ahmedabad and will be under the observation of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) medical team as he continues to recover from dengue.
Gill, who missed India's opening World Cup match against Australia, will miss the second consecutive fixture on October 11 when the Men in Blue cross swords against Afghanistan. Gill was earlier admitted to a hospital in Chennai on Sunday (October 8) and was later discharged on Monday (October 9) evening.
India is scheduled to face Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14 (Saturday). Gill is expected to miss the Pakistan match as well unless he shows signs of significant improvement in fitness in the next 48 hours.
Ceremony before India vs Pakistan match
The Sports Tak has learned that there will be a musical ceremony in Ahmedabad before the India vs Pakistan match gets underway. Several celebrities and VIPs are expected to be present for the ceremony and the match. Singer Arijit Singh will reportedly perform ahead of the match while superstars like Sachin Tendulkar, Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan will also be in attendance.
According to the information accessed by Sports Tak, the ceremony will last for around 30 minutes and the tentative start time is 12:40 PM IST on Saturday. The musical event and other festivities will conclude by 1:10 PM IST with a toss scheduled to be held 20 minutes later.
India vs Pakistan in World Cup
It is important to note that India are undefeated against their arch-rivals Pakistan in ODI World Cup. The Men in Blue are gunning for their eighth win against the Men in Green while Pakistan are still hoping to open their account against India in World Cup.
