On October 22 (Sunday), Kohli and Rohit orchestrated yet another famous win for India by beating their ICC tournament nemesis New Zealand in Dharamsala. After the victory, the Indian dressing room was jumping with joy and there were bright smiles all around the camp.

Once again, Kohli displayed his mastery in run chases, securing another victory for India in Dharamsala. Although Kohli fell just five runs short of a century, his performance was enough to keep the Men in Blue undefeated in the ongoing ODI World Cup and propel them to the top of the points table with five wins in as many matches.
This marked the third instance in this year's tournament where Kohli orchestrated India's chase with his exceptional batting skills. His earlier feats included a crucial innings against Australia under intense pressure, a remarkable 103-run knock against Bangladesh, and now a commanding performance against New Zealand, where he fell just short of a century. Notably, Kohli also achieved a half-century in a run chase against Afghanistan.
Kohli's batting brilliance proved instrumental as India secured a four-wicket victory with two overs to spare. His impressive performance propelled him to the top of the run-scoring charts in the World Cup, with a total of 354 runs in five innings and an astonishing average of 118.
Earlier in the match when India were fielding, Rohit and Virat were seen engaging in an animated chat on the ground in a 28-second video that went viral on social media. The incident occurred after the completion of the 31st over with Kohli trying to explain something to his skipper before the 'Hitman' appeared to snub his former captain's suggestions by giving an explanation of his own. Soon after, Kohli walked back to his fielding position with visible frustration on his face.
