In the highly anticipated World Cup 2023 final, scheduled for November 19th at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium, India and Australia, both riding impressive winning streaks, are set to battle for cricketing supremacy. India, unbeaten in the tournament, boasts a remarkable ten consecutive victories, while Australia has surged with eight wins after two initial defeats.
The Indian team enters the final as the favoured contender, seeking to clinch the trophy that has eluded them since 2011. Yuvraj Singh, a former World Cup winner, expressed confidence in India's prospects, emphasizing the unparalleled balance within the squad. According to Singh, the Indian team possesses 8-10 match-winners, a level of prowess reminiscent of the dominant Australian cricket team from 1999 to 2007.
"I have never seen a better combination in the Indian team. You have 5 batters, 8-10 match winners in a single team. Australian team used to have this kind of prowess when they were dominating world cricket in 2003-2007," remarked Yuvraj Singh during an interview with Sports Tak.
Singh also shared his belief in Virat Kohli's potential to surpass Sachin Tendulkar's record of 100 international centuries. Commending Kohli's extraordinary form in the tournament, Singh stated that the current pace suggests Kohli could achieve this remarkable feat.
"At the pace that Virat Kohli is going, he should break Sachin Tendulkar's record of 100 centuries. In ODI cricket especially, I think he can score more hundreds. He has a tremendous conversion rate. 71 fifties and 50 hundreds is not a joke," expressed Yuvraj Singh regarding Virat Kohli.
Virat Kohli, in a stellar performance against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium, surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's record of 49 ODI hundreds, amassing 80 centuries in international cricket. Currently leading the run charts in the World Cup 2023 with 711 runs, Kohli remains a key player in India's quest for glory in the final showdown against Australia.
