The semi-final race has gotten really interesting after Afghanistan's big win against Australia. India is currently on top of Group 1 with two consecutive wins and are the biggest favorites to seal their spots in the semi-finals. However, there is still a chance of the Aussies and the Afghan side eliminating the Indian cricket team from the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup 2024.

How can AUS and AFG eliminate India?

India is currently safe as they have a really great net run rate. However, there is a possibility that the Men in Blue suffered elimination at the hands of Australia and Afghanistan. After Afghan side's win over the Aussies, both teams are in a must-win situation to qualify for the next round of competition.

If Australia beat Team India by 41 or more runs and Afghanistan beat Bangladesh by 81 or more runs, both of them will be able to get better net run rate than India and qualify for the semi-finals. Currently, despite two consecutive losses even Bangladesh is in the run for the semi-final. The miracle number for them is If India beat the Aussies by 55 runs and then they pick up a 31-run win over Afghanistan.

SA and WI to collide for semi-final spot

After England became the first team to confirm their spot in the semi-finals. The Group 2 clash between South Africa and West Indies has become a virtual knockout. A win here would mean a spot in the next round and a loss would lead to elimination despite stunning performance throughout the mega tournament.
