Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after the Babar Azam-led side failed to perform in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. Pakistan cricket team lost their two matches out of their three outings and their biggest loss was against the United States because the side were featuring in their inaugural World Cup. This is the first time in the history of the T20 World Cup that the Men in Green got out of the tournament in a group-stage match.
Latif stated that PCB and the governing body must be sacked because they were responsible for selecting the squad for the World Cup. Pakistan were the last one to announce their squad in the World Cup.
"250 million Pakistanis have the right to know which selector voted in favour of which player. PCB should reveal the minutes of last meeting of the selection committee," Latif retweeted a Pakistani journalist on X.

Latif also said that the people who trained Pakistan cricket team mentally and physically should be blamed for the team's performance in the ongoing tournament.
"Before we shift blame to the players, first the PCB & its governing body needs to be sacked! They are the people responsible for selecting the players & management for this tour, and training them physically & mentally for the T20 WC! Heads must roll! But would they???" read another tweet that Latif reposted.
Pakistan were supposed to get a bonus payment of USD 100,000 if they won the tournament. Pakistan's chances for qualifying for the Super 8 ended after the clash between the United States and Ireland was abandoned due to wet outfield in Florida.
However, the Babar Azam-led side will play their last match in the T20 World Cup 2024 against Ireland which will take place on Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida.
