Indian vs Pakistan cricket match is one of the most followed games in cricket. When these two rivals lock horns in the multinational tournament the fans got mad at the next level. Fans compare the victory against arch-rivals as if they won the tournament. We often see Pakistani fans breaking the television when lose against India. But the recently concluded India-Pakistan match witnessed shoot-out and bloodshed.
Pakistani media reported that a horrible incident took place in Lahore city of Pakistan before the arch-rivals clash in the T20 World Cup 2024. A YouTuber, called Saad Ahmed, was doing a walks pop to the build-up for the India vs Pakistan match in New York. After having a conversation with several people about the clash, he encountered a security guard who wasn’t interested in featuring in the video. The security guard lost his cool on being questioned repeatedly and eventually, shot the YouTuber dead. Several reports stated that Saad was rushed to the hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.
An Instagram handle, named khattti.meethi.baateinn, also shared the news of Saad’s murder on Instagram, sharing one of his old videos. The caption of the video also included the statement of the accused security guard.
“He kept on bringing the mic close to my face and filming. I lost my temper and fired at him," the guard was quoted as saying in the Instagram post.
Returning to the match, India outclassed Pakistan by six runs in the last-ball thriller clash at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. While asked to bat, India scored 119 runs in 19 overs where Rishabh Pant scored the most runs (42) for India, and Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers he got three scalps in his four overs spell by giving 14 runs.
Pakistan have lost both matches in the marquee event so far and will now face Canada for their third match of the T20 World Cup. The last edition runner-ups are on the verge of getting out of the tournament.
