South Africa announce 15-member T20 World Cup squad under Aiden Markram's captaincy; 2 players receive maiden T20I call-up

Highlights:

Quinton de Kock and Anrich Nortje have been named in South Africa's squad for the T20 World Cup.

Ryan Rickelton and Ottniel Baartman have earned their maiden T20I call-up for the national team.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) on April 30 (Tuesday) announced the senior men's national squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, scheduled to begin on June 1. South Africa have announced a strong 15-member squad under the captaincy of Aiden Markram while the two players have been named in traveling reserves. Most notably, wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock and fast bowler Anrich Nortje have been named in South Africa's squad for the T20 World Cup.

De Kock is retired from Test and ODI cricket while Nortje returns to the international arena after a lengthy hiatus due to injury. Meanwhile, Ryan Rickelton and Ottniel Baartman have earned their maiden T20I call-up for the national team after impressing in the SA20 tournament.

Travelling reserves: Nandre Burger and Lungi Ngidi.

South Africa 2nd team to announce T20 WC squad

Earlier, on April 29, the New Zealand Cricket (NZC) board unveiled their 15-member squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Led by superstar Kane Williamson, the team boasts a formidable lineup as they aim for the ICC title. The squad sees the return of Trent Boult, who will rejoin his longtime bowling ally, Tim Southee. Additionally, the Blackcaps have opted for seasoned players in the spin bowling department and have assembled a dynamic batting lineup.

Devon Conway, who had been sidelined due to injury and missed the Indian Premier League (IPL), will also make his comeback for the World Cup.
