Ahead of this all-important event, the BCCI called on all the fans about this mega event which saw the launching of India's brand new jersey.
A day after announcing a 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup 2022, the BCCI has given cricket fans an opportunity to become a part of Team India’s new jersey. The Indian cricket board on Monday dropped a video on its official Instagram account, hinting that the new kit, to be sported by Rohit Sharma & Co at the showpiece event in Australia, will be out soon.

Meanwhile, India will play a three-match T20I series against Australia from September 20. The first match will take place in Mohali, Punjab. However, the home team has suffered a blow with senior pacer Mohammed Shami getting ruled out after testing positive for Covid-19. The selection committee has named express pacer Umesh Yadav as his replacement for the upcoming fixtures. Meanwhile, senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel have marked their return to the team after missing the Asia Cup.
India failed to extend their title tally in the just concluded Asia Cup. They lost two back to back games in the Super Four stage and that led to early ouster from the tournament. In words of Virat Kohli and Rohit, India got a good understanding of how they are going to deal with such crunch situations at the World Cup.
Kohli had said that India got those pressure points and difficult situations in a multi-nation tournament and that has been the biggest takeaway for Men In Blue. The upcoming T20Is vs Australia and South Africa will act as another round of practice for Team India, where they are expected to play their full-strength XI.
India's T20 World Cup squad: Rohit Sharma (c), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant (wk), Dinesh Karthik (wk), Hardik Pandya, R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh.
