The hype for another India versus Pakistan clash is getting ratcheted up by the day as the much-awaited Sunday encounter approaches. There have been advertisements of all sorts to set the mood to have supporters gearing up to root for their teams as the high-octane clash is slated to be played on October 23.
The match which is to be broadcast on Star Sports had a special guest to hike up the excitement even more. WWE legend and Hollywood superstar Dwayne Johnson, famously known as ‘The Rock’ in an advertisement by the channel was seen promoting and disseminating Sunday’s clash intensely and dramatically.
The Rock used his acting prowess and articulated the message ahead of Sunday’s match labelling it ‘More than a match.’
“When the greatest rivals collide, the world will stand still. This is more than just a cricket match. It's time for India vs Pakistan - the greatest rivalry,” Rock mentions in the video.
The short bespoke message of 20 seconds while also promoting his upcoming film Black Adam, for the bajillion cricket fans in two cricket frenzy countries gets more fuel to its fire when an eminent personality like Dwayne Johnson flags it up.
Rohit Sharma and his men will set their T20 World Cup campaign in motion against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 23, Sunday at the grand venue of MCG.
The clash will begin at 1:30 pm IST when the men in blue will be seen locking horns with green shirts for the third time in two months since their recent meeting at the Asia Cup 2022.
The two teams met twice at the Asia Cup 2022 and are on level terms 1-1 with India looking to make amends from the last year’s T20 World Cup where Pakistan outclassed India with a 10-wicket victory.
Shaheen Shah Afridi who has recovered from injury was seen as the driving force in India’s defeat with three key wickets of the openers Kl Rahul and captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Then with the ba,t it was skipper Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan who made short work of the target 152, edging India with a famous win.
So will India have an answer that is something we will see for ourselves on Sunday with a depleted side that will miss the services of ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah and star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
