India were humbled by 2010 T20 World Cup champions England in the second semifinal of the ongoing 2022 edition in Adelaide on Thursday, November 10. Chasing 168 for the win, Alex Hales and his opening partner Jos Buttler ran rings around the Indian bowlers, with Buttler scoring 80 runs off 49 and Hales scoring 86 runs off just 47 balls.

After the match, the England skipper shared his thoughts on the match with former skipper and teammate Eoin Morgan and the Sky Sports network, discussing the various points that helped the Three Lions take India out of the equation for the final. "India is more dangerous when they know exactly what they have to do. Takes the Kohli run-chase out of the equation. Might not have worked at another time but I am glad that it did today," said Buttler.

Buttler was quick to heap praise on his players and also explained the reason behind Adil Rashid's bowling so early in the game. "Adil Rashid was outstanding. Keeping Rishabh Pant in mind, we used him early as well. He bowled the best today that I have seen in a long time. He tried to spin the ball hard. We had to get those guys out and I thought that he was the best chance to do that, especially the key wicket of Suryakumar Yadav.

"Cricket needs you to take one chance. He plays a high-risk game and plays with huge freedom, but it was a perfect ball from Rashid to get him," he said.
