Pakistan stormed into their third T20 World Cup final on November 09 (Wednesday) after skipper Babar Azam and his batting partner Mohammad Rizwan combined to bulldoze New Zealand by seven-wicket in the semi-final clash at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

Babar finally clicked at the right time with a sedate knock of 42-ball 53 which was well bolstered by Rizwan's 57 off 43 as Pakistan overhauled New Zealand's 153-run target with five balls to spare to make T20 World Cup final after 13 years. Pakistan will now lock horns with either England or India in the final on November 13 (Sunday) at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Since the time the four semi-finalists for the ongoing 2022 T20 World Cup were confirmed, the cricket fraternity including over a billion fans have been rooting for an India vs Pakistan final, just like the one that set the ball rolling for the ICC tournament in 2007. The prospect of an India vs Pakistan final is mouthwatering. The two arch-rivals have already played a cracking nerve-jangling match in the multi-national tournament and if India holds their end of the bargain, then the final on  Sunday will become one of the biggest sporting spectacles.

After Pakistan's semi-final win, captain Babar Azam was quizzed about the prospect of facing India again in the final and this what he had to say:

"We can't say right now which opponent will we be facing in the final. No matter which opponent comes, we will try to give our 100%. We always try to overcome challenges, and a final is bound to have pressure. You enter the final after passing through different phases in a tournament. When you reach the final, you try to play fearless cricket. (With) the kind of cricket we have played in the last three-four matches, we would look to continue that," Babar said.

India will lock horns against England at the Adelaide Oval on November 10 (Thursday).
