Pakistan skipper did not make any changes in the winning combination for the semi-final clash. Before the match, there was doubt over Mohammad Rizwan and Shoaib Malik’s participation as they missed practice before the semi-final after experiencing mild flu. However, the two in-form batter have regained fitness for the knockout clash.
Aaron Finch did not make any changes to his side either and went with the winning combination from the Super 12 stage. Finch won the toss and elected to field first at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
“The wicket will not change a lot over the course of the game. The guys are relaxed, there'll be obvious nerves. This pitch has played true right through the IPL and the World Cup, no changes,” Finch said at the toss.
“We'll have to put runs on the board and then defend it. It's an honour to lead this bunch of players, looking forward to playing some good cricket. UAE is our backyard, we know these conditions well,” Azam said after losing the toss.
Finch has won the toss for the fifth time in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021. On the other hand, Azam plays with the same side for the sixth consecutive game.
