Former Indian captain MS Dhoni and present T20 captain Virat Kohli ahead of India’s warm-up game against England were seen having light moments together. Dhoni, who has joined the Indian team as the mentor for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 spent quality time with the ‘Men in Blue’.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a picture on their social media where ‘King Kohli’ was engrossed in a discussion with Mahi. The BCCI Twitter handle captioned the post,
“Light-hearted conversation be like J #TeamIndia #INDvsENG #T20WorldCup”
Team India donned the new T20 World Cup jersey when they took to the field on Monday.
Dhoni was also seen giving wicket-keeping practice to young Ishan Kishan. Later the former skipper spent time with all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who has been the subject of many discussions with regards to his fitness and whether one will see the Baroda lad bowl in the marquee event.
India had a mix day on the field as they went past England in the first warm-up game winning by 7 wickets. While runs flew from KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan’s bat as the duo put up an opening partnership of 82, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rahul Chahar and Mohammed Shami, all had a rough day despite Shami bagging 3-wickets.
Team India are slated to open their T20 World Cup 2021 campaign on October 24, with a high-voltage clash against Pakistan.
