England’s in-form batters Mohammad Rizwan and Shoaib Malik missed Pakistan’s training session on November 10 ahead of the semi-final clash against Australia in Dubai. According to reports, Rizwan and Malik had mild flu in the morning and were advised to miss the training session.
The two were tested for Covid-19 as well and their reports came negative. Earlier during the regular Covid-19 testing throughout the tournament, the two had also tested negative for the virus.
According to Geo News, backup wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmed and Haider Ali are likely to play in the semi-final against Australia.
If the reports turn out to be true, it will be a big blow for Babar Azam-led Pakistan as the team has been unchanged during their undefeated run in the Super 12 stage. Rizwan is the second-highest run getter for Pakistan in the tournament so far with two unbeaten half-centuries whereas Malik got into the groove with the fastest half-century of the tournament in the previous outing.
