Sehwag, Gambhir express their anger against people celebrating Pakistan’s win by bursting crackers

In the big game against Pakistan on October 24, India couldn’t play up to expectations and suffered a massive 10-wicket win as Babar Azam-led side outplayed India in all the departments on the game. With India's first defeat to arch-rivals in World Cup events, fans morale has taken a hit. On the other hand, in some parts of the country, people celebrated the neighbours' win by bursting crackers.
Former Indian cricketers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir didn’t like this act and came up with some bold statements on their respective Twitter accounts.

‘Sara gyaan tab hi yaad aata hai’
“Firecrackers are banned during Diwali but yesterday in parts of India there were firecrackers to celebrate Pakistan ‘s victory. Achha they must have been celebrating victory of cricket. Toh, what’s the harm in fireworks on Diwali. Hypocrisy kyun ,Saara gyaan tab hi yaad aata hai,” Sehwag tweeted in anger.
Even Gambhir considered this as shameful and tweeted, “Those bursting crackers on Pak winning can’t be Indian! We stand by our boys! #Shameful.”
Sehwag also came in support of India's wicket-taking bowler Mohammed Shami who did not make an impact against Pakistan. Shami faced online abuse from trolls after a bad day at the office.

Sehwag tweeted: "The online attack on Mohammad Shami is shocking and we stand by him. He is a champion and Anyone who wears the India cap has India in their hearts far more than any online mob.  With you Shami. Agle match mein dikado jalwa."
