India’s T20 World Cup 2021 campaign didn’t end the way they wanted after getting knocked out in the Super 12 stage. The Super 12 match against Namibia was the last match of Ravi Shastri’s tenure as  head coach of the Indian cricket team along with the bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach Ramakrishnan Sridhar. It was the last T20I as captain for Virat Kohli as well against Namibia where India registered an easy win. As the dust settles, Kohli thanked the trio of Shastri, Arun and Sridhar for their tremendous efforts in the success of Indian cricket across the globe.

“Thank you for all the memories and the amazing journey we've had as a team with you all. Your contribution has been immense and will always be remembered in Indian cricket history. Wish you the best moving forward in life. Until next time,” Kohli tweeted the message with a photo.

According to the reports, CVC Capitals has approached Shastri and the support staff to coach the new Ahmedabad franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

Furthermore, Shastri has also hinted at his comeback in the commentary box by saying that he may commentate in the fifth Test at Manchester between India and England which is rescheduled to be played next year.

After Shastri, the new look T20I side under the leadership of Rohit Sharma will play in the home series against New Zealand starting November 17.  This will be the first assignment for the new head coach Rahul Dravid.
