Indian skipper Virat Kohli visited Scotland’s dressing room after a huge win by eight wickets at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Scotland cricket team’s Twitter account posted few photos of Kohli having a conversation with Scotland cricketers.
Cricket Scotland commended the gesture as they wrote in a tweet: “Huge respect to @imVkohli and co. for taking the time”. In the background Indian opener KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan and support staff can be seen too.
Earlier, Kohli finally managed to win the toss on his 33rd birthday. This was his first toss win after a gap of six T20Is. A relieved Kohli was all smiles when he won the coin toss. He also jokingly said that it would have been great if he played Pakistan on his birthday and won the crucial toss in India’s campaign opener.
“Winning my first toss on my birthday, probably we should have played the first game on my birthday (smiles). The intensity from ball one is important,” a relieved 33-year-old said.
After the eight-wicket win in just 39 deliveries that helped India achieve the highest net run rate in Group 2, Kohli termed the dominating win special as it keeps them in the hunt for semi-final berth.
The Indian captain said that it will be interesting to see what happens on November 7 as New Zealand take on unpredictable Afghanistan. An Afghanistan win help India set goals for their last group match against Namibia and reach the final whereas if the Kiwis win it will make the November 8 match a dead rubber.
