Indian cricket team are currently playing a T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up match against Bangladesh to get familiar with the conditions of the new venues in the United States. This will help them to perform better in the marquee event where they face Ireland for the opener clash.

During Men in Blue's batting a photo went viral on social media where an Indian fan was seen holding a placard which read, “We Miss You Dhoni”, here is the picture:

Team India last won an ICC trophy under MS Dhoni's captaincy in 2013 champions trophy and since then the Men in Blue haven't been able to crack the code. Dhoni holds a massive fan base in the cricketing world. He is the only Indian captain who won all the ICC titles of that time under his captaincy. Under his captaincy India won their first T20 World Cup title in 2007 and then went on to clinch the ODI World Cup 2011 title.

Dhoni last featured in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) where he represented his franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and scored 161 runs in 14 matches. That was reportedly the last IPL for the former CSK skipper as a cricketer.

Before IPL 2024, Dhoni stepped down from CSK's captaincy and the franchise announced Ruturaj Gaikwad as his successor for the team.

However, under Gaikwad's captaincy, five time champions CSK were unable to qualify for the playoffs. They ended their campaign after losing the do-or-die clash Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Talking about the match, after opting to bat first Rohit Sharma & Co. scored 182 runs in 20 over where wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was the highest run-getter. Pant cracked a blistering 53 runs off 32 balls before retiring out. After Pant, Hardik Pandya took up the mantle and scored an unbeaten 40 in 23 balls to help India post a big total. For Bangladesh, Mahedi Hasan, Shoriful Islam, Mahmudullah and Tanvir Islam got one wicket each.
