This comes ahead of Team India's ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 warm-up match against the Netherlands in Thiruvananthapuram after the first match against England was washed out due to rain.

Former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli has travelled from Guwahati to Mumbai due to a 'personal emergency' and has travelled to Mumbai, according to a report being circulated in the media. This comes ahead of Team India's ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 warm-up match against the Netherlands in Thiruvananthapuram after the first match against England was washed out due to rain.

According to a BCCI source who told Cricbuzz, "Virat will rejoin the team soon," the source said something a spokesman for the team also confirmed.  The rest of the Indian cricket team has already arrived in Thiruvananthapuram, although they are missing their star batter due to this personal emergency.

Thiruvananthapuram seems to be grappling with inclement weather, with rain impacting matches and practice sessions. A practice session for Team India is scheduled for Monday, weather permitting, at the KCA – St Xavier’s College Cricket Ground.

In addition to the India vs Netherlands match, New Zealand and South Africa are set to play on Monday, October 2. The World Cup 2023 officially kicks off on October 5, with England and New Zealand competing in Ahmedabad, while India's journey begins against Australia on October 8 in Chennai.

Adverse weather conditions have impacted three warm-up matches, with two of them occurring in Thiruvananthapuram, featuring South Africa and Afghanistan on September 29. The Australia-Netherlands match on September 30 was shortened to a 23-over game but couldn't reach a conclusion. Ahead of India's clash with the Netherlands on Tuesday, New Zealand and South Africa are set to compete on Monday.

India will commence their World Cup campaign against Australia in Chennai on October 8. The tournament officially commences on October 5 with a match between the previous World Cup finalists, England and New Zealand, taking place in Ahmedabad.
