Ahead of the World Test Championship (WTC) final that kicks off on June 7 (Wednesday), Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik, who will be part of the commentary panel, shared a picture of the pitch that will be used for a Test match. In the Tweet, Karthik shared a collage picture depicting the change in The Oval pitch from one day to another. From the picture shared by Karthik, there was a thick layer of green grass on the pitch that worried an Indian fan.

"The pitch is ready for the #WTCFinal! A little browner as the grass is 6mm today compared to 9mm yesterday. What would you choose if you win the toss?" Karthik said in a Tweet.

Replying to Karthik's tweet, a fan asked the Indian cricketer to become pitch curator and cut the grass on The Oval pitch.

"At this point dk (Diensh Karthik) can be our hero if he secretly cut those damn grass off at night w a lawn mower. Ye kya garden bna diya hai inhonen pitch k naam p," the fan wrote.

Karthik came up with a hilarious reply and said his resume is stacked with many roles.

"The resume is already heavy with many roles," Karthik replied.

Two of the top-ranked teams - India and Australia - will square off in the second edition of the WTC final at a neutral venue, making the contest even more compelling. It will be for the first time in two decades that India and Australia will lock horns in an ICC tournament final. The last time these two sides locked horns in an ICC final was in 2003 when Australia defeated India in the ODI World Cup final. The 2023 WTC final will be played between June 7 and June 11 at The Oval, London.

India finished runners-up in the last edition of WTC as they lost the final against New Zealand. This time, Rohit Sharma's brigade would look to cross the final hurdle and end their ICC trophy drought.

Having said that, India is staring at a herculean task of not only beating a team that consists of world-class players and plays great cricket as a cohesive unit, especially in ICC tournaments and knockout matches. But India knows the formula to beat Australia in knockout matches as they have done so four times in the past.
