India vs Australia third Test match will be played at iconic Gabba Stadium.

Rain will likely to play spoilsport in third Test match between India and Australia.

India and Australia are currently preparing for the third Test match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 which is scheduled to take place in Brisbane's iconic Gabba Stadium. The ongoing Test series is important for Rohit Sharma-led side to seal their spot for the World Test Championship (WTC) final which is scheduled to take place next year in England.

Team India will be confident despite losing the second Test match as they had defeated Australia in Gabba during the last India tour of Australia under Ajinkya Rahane's captaincy. However, the rainy conditions will help the speedsters and that will be a litmus test for Team India batters. If India manages to score big in the third clash then they will compete against the hosts.

Brisbane, Gabba weather during India vs Australia 3rd Test

However, the third Test match between India and Australia will likely to be affected by rain as the weather reports are showing heavy rain at the venue from December 14 to 18. The most rain is predicted on Day 1, which is Saturday, December 14. As per AccuWeather, there is an 88 per cent probability of rain during the day. This could well interfere with a lot of play on Day 1. Thunderstorms are also forecast.

However, the rain is expected to lessen after December 14 but there is a morning shower predicted on  Day 2 as well which will likely delay the proceedings of the third Test match of the ongoing five Test match series. While there is little to no rain predicted on Day 3 and Day 5, an afternoon shower is on the cards on Day 4.

How India will qualify for the WTC final if the Gabba Test washed out

If the third Test match between India and Australia washed out then the Men in Blue will stand third in the points table tally. For their third consecutive WTC final qualification, they will be in a must-win situation. If the Gabba Test is washed out and India wins their remaining two matches then the Men in Blue will seal their spot for the WTC final.
