India stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah said that the biggest positive for him from the Perth Test is making a comeback after getting all-out on 150 runs. India's top order failed to perform in the first inning where Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal got out on ducks and modern-day great Virat Kohli managed to score just five runs. Debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy was the only batter who scored more than 40 runs.
At that point in time, the game was on Australia's side but Indian bowlers bundled out Australia on just 104 runs where Bumrah was the highest wicket-taker with five scalps. After coming to bat in the second innings, India's openers were seen in lethal rhythm and made a stand of 201 runs. After that former India captain Kohli smashed his 10 Test century in Australia to give a mammoth target of 534 runs.
Bumrah said that the best thing was no one from the team was down after getting all-out on just 150 runs
"The biggest positive for me was no one was down after we got out for 150. Going forward, it'll be the biggest positive" said Bumrah in post-match conference.
Jasprit Bumrah on Pink ball Test
The ace speedster who will be Rohit Sharma's deputy in the upcoming second Test match said that they will have to start with zero since the game will be played by pink ball.
"When you do well, you get the positives but even when we don't do well, I don't go too down. Adelaide will be pink ball, so we have to start from zero" added Bumrah.
The ongoing Test series is important for India to confirm their berth for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final which will take place in England next year. India needs to register 4-0 win to seal their spot for WTC final without depending on other teams' outcomes.
The second Test match between India and Australia is scheduled to start from 6 to 10 December and will be played at Adelaide Oval.
