Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist predict Australia as the winner in Gabba Test.

India and Australia are currently preparing for the third Test match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy which is scheduled to start from December 14 at the iconic Gabba stadium. After registering a 10-wicket dominating win to level the series at 1-1 the upcoming clash will be important for both teams to take the lead in the ongoing five-Test match series.

Team India who won the last two series in Australia will look for a hattrick of Test series win on Australian soil. The ongoing series is important for India citing their qualification for the World Test Championship (WTC) final.

The Gabba has been a fortress for Baggy Greens as the team played 66 matches and won 42 at the venue. On the other hand, India have played seven matches and managed to register just one win. Pat Cummins & Co. will look to continue their momentum during the upcoming clash. However, Team India who lost the second Test match is also confident about the upcoming clash considering their last outing at the venue. India were the first team who manage to defeat Australia in Gabba after 33 years.

Ajinkya Rahane-led India defeated Australia by three wickets where Shubman Gill scored 91 in the second innings and Rishabh Pant played a match-winning unbeaten knock of 89 runs.

Former Australia cricketers Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist predicted the outcome of the upcoming second Test match between India and Australia. The duo reckoned that Australia will defeat India in the third Test match to take the lead in the ongoing series. They highlighted Australia’s unparalleled record at the venue and the bounce and pace on the surface will help the hosts.

Hayden also reckoned that India's batting lineup would struggle in Brisbane considering the pitch conditions in Gabba. He reckoned that it would be a close match but Australia will defeat India.

“I’m aligning with Australia. India, I think, will struggle with the bounce and pace of this wicket again. But I do think it’s going to be a close game. Still, I’ve got Australia to win,” said Hayden while speaking on SEN Breakfast.

Gilchrist reckoned that Australia batter Marnus Labuschagne will score a century against India in the third Test match.

“I do (think Australia can go up 2-1). And I’m tipping a Marnus hundred,” said Gilchrist.

After losing the second Test match, India needs to win all three remaining matches to qualify for the WTC final which is scheduled to take place next year in England.
