On the back of an imperious batting display from captain Abhimanyu Easwaran and Yashasvi Jaiswal, India A ended Day 2 of the ongoing four-day Test against Bangladesh A at 404/5, extending their lead to 292 runs. The opening partnership of Jaiswal and Easwaran combined for 283 runs before the former was dismissed for 145 runs. Easwaran too smashed a century but his vigil at the crease ended with 142 runs. Upendra Yadav (27) and Tilak Verma (27) remained unbeaten at the crease for India A at stumps on Day 2. Now, captain Easwaran would look to declare the innings as soon as possible in order to secure an outright win in the remaining two days of the match.
Notably, on the second day of the four-day match at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium, India A openers carried the innings after closing the first day with a 120-run alliance. On the second day, the two batters imposed their will on Bangladesh's bowling attack and stitched a 283-run stand for the first wicket before Jaiswal lost his wicket after smacking 20 fours and a six. Soon after Easwaran also followed his opening partner after smashing 11 fours and a six himself.
Courtesy of centuries from both the openers, India A's score was 316 for two at one time. Thereafter, Yash Dhul (20), Sarfaraz Khan (21) and Jayant Yadav (10) could not convert their starts into a big score.
Bangladesh were bundled out for 112
On the first day of the match, Bangladesh batters danced to the tunes of the left-arm spinner Saurabh Kumar. The result of which was that in front of India A, the Bangladesh A team was reduced to just 112 runs. Saurabh took 4 wickets on the first day of the match for India A, while fast bowler Navdeep Saini also contributed significantly by taking three wickets.
