Rishabh Pant will be India's vice captain in Test series against England.

India's newly appointed Test vice-captain Rishabh Pant is currently in England, preparing with the team for the upcoming red-ball series, which is scheduled to start from June 20. After a dismal performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the wicketkeeper batter can be seen smashing bowlers in the nets ahead of the all-important Test series against England.

 The wicketkeeper batter even went on to smash Washington Sundar for a massive six, which landed on the roof of the stadium and left it damaged. A clip is going viral on social media where Pant smashed a monstrous six during a practice session that broke the stadium’s roof. Here is the video.

Pant will feature as Shubman Gill's deputy in the upcoming series and his form will be crucial for India in the upcoming red-ball assignment. Pant has scored 556 runs from 17 innings in England at an average of 32.70 with two centuries and as many fifties.

Pant was unable to perform in IPL 2025, where he managed to score just 269 runs from 13 innings at an average of 24.45 with one hundred and as many fifties. After poor outings in the first 12 innings, the wicketkeeper batter played an unbeaten 118* knock against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
