'You'll get to...': Shubman Gill breaks silence on Jasprit Bumrah's participation in fourth Test against England after India's narrow 22-run defeat in Lord's Test
Shubman Gill and Jasprit Bumrah of India look on during Day One of the 3rd Rothesay Test Match between England and India at Lord's Cricket Ground on July 10, 2025 in London, England.

Story Highlights:

Jasprit Bumrah picked a fifer in third Test vs England.

England beat India by 22 runs in third Test at Lord's Stadium in London.

India captain Shubman Gill refused to confirm whether pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah will feature in the fourth Test against England after the team's narrow 22-run defeat in the third Test match against Ben Stokes's side at iconic Lord's Stadium in London. Bumrah featured in the third Test match after missing the second Test because of workload management, has picked up a fifer in the first innings of the Lord's Test, and got two scalps in the second. After India's defeat in the third Test, Shubman Gill said that everyone will get to know about Bumrah's participation in the fourth Test.

"You'll get to know soon" said Gill in the post-match presentation.

Indian selector Ajit Agarkar and head coach Gautam Gambhir have already confirmed that Bumrah will feature in three Tests in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 because of workload management. Bumrah, who picked up a five-wicket haul in the third Test, has already featured in the two Tests of the series. With India trailing 1-2 after three Tests, it would be interesting to see the call.

"A lead in the first innings would have been crucial for us" said Gill on Rishabh Pant's run-out in first innings of Lord's Test.

India vice-captain Rishabh Pant, who got injured while fielding during Day 1 of the third Test, scored 74 runs in the first innings before getting run out. The fourth Test match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 will take place from 23 to 27 July at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in England.
