The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named Jayant Yadav as replacement for Covid-19 positive Washington Sundar for the upcoming three-ODI series in South Africa. Along with Yadav, BCCI has also named Navdeep Saini as cover for Mohammed Siraj as the latter is recovering from an injury he sustained during the second Test of the ongoing Test series at the Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg.
Yadav who is a part of India’s Test squad has been asked to stay back in South Africa for the ODI series. The off-spin all-rounder last played an ODI in 2016 against New Zealand and never played an ODI again. On the other hand, Saini played his last ODI in Sri Lanka where India faced a series defeat under the leadership of Shikhar Dhawan.
