India skipper Rohit Sharma and batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal continue to rise in the latest ICC Test Batting Rankings released on July 26 (Wednesday).

While Rohit grabbed the ninth spot and is the only Indian batter in the top 10, Jaiswal saw a surge of 11 places which stationed him at 63rd place in the batting standings.

Both the batters enjoyed the ascent in the Test rankings owing to their splendid performances in the just-concluded two-match Test series against West Indies. Rohit struck a brilliant century in the first Test which was well coupled with a stunning 171-run knock by Jaiswal. They didn't stop there and cracked half centuries in the following Test. Riding on their splendid show India clinched the series 1-0.

While Jaiswal has 466 rating points in the standings, Rohit has garnered 759 points. Notably, Hitman is tied at 759 point with his Sri Lankan counter part Dimuth Karunaratne.

Rohit is followed by his teammate Rishabh Pant who slipped by a spot and is now at 12th place with 743 points while batting juggernaut Virat Kohli remains in 14th place with 733 points.

Meanwhile, Australia's Marnus Labuschagne and England's Joe Root also made remarkable comebacks in Test Rankings. Both players have advanced three places each, with Labuschagne reaching second position and Root securing third spot. New Zealand's prolific batter, Kane Williamson, continues to dominate the rankings, maintaining his hold on the top spot with 883 rating points.

Labuschagne's outstanding performances in the drawn fourth Test in Manchester played a significant role in his rise. He scored 51 and an impressive century (111), accumulating a total of 869 rating points. On the other hand, Root's brilliant knock of 84 contributed to his climb to 852 points in the rankings.

The Player of the Match in the fourth Ashes Test, Zak Crawley, experienced a significant surge, jumping 13 places to secure 35th position, thanks to his sensational innings of 189. Other England players have also benefited from their remarkable performance in the Test match, with Harry Brook rising to 11th position and Jonny Bairstow advancing three places to joint-19th after his unbeaten 99. These performances helped England post an impressive total of 592 in their only innings.

In the bowling rankings, there have been notable changes as well. Ravindra Jadeja has moved up to sixth position, showcasing his proficiency as a bowler. Sri Lankan bowler Prabath Jayasuriya's exceptional seven-wicket haul in Galle propelled him seven places up, reaching a career-best seventh position. Ramesh Mendis, Jayasuriya's spin partner, has also experienced a slight rise, moving up one place to 21st after taking six wickets in the match.

Other players from India, Pakistan, and West Indies have also shown remarkable progress in the rankings. India captain Rohit Sharma inched up to ninth spot after his solid performances in the second Test against West Indies. Saud Shakeel's outstanding Player of the Match effort of 208 and 30 not out in Pakistan's win over Sri Lanka in Galle lifted him 12 places to 15th. Sri Lanka's Dhananjaya de Silva has also progressed, reaching 24th position with his impressive scores of 122 and 82.
